Retinal transplant boosts vision

An experimental transplant of cells into the eyes of patients with failing sight improved vision in most of them, US researchers say.

Video gaming is a HUGE industry these days, and companies want to know how they are doing on making good, quality games. So, that is where you can come in. Companies are willing to pay people to play video games, and they will pay you very good money. The only requirement to playing video games is that you have the console, that is it. Hopefully, you will have a console that is up to date, and if not, I recommend buying one (When I say “up to date” i mean like Xbox 360, nintendo Wii, or PS3). That is THE ONLY thing that you need besides time to invest in playing video games. You will be paid either by the hour, or by the game that you play. The way that it works is simple. You play the game, beat it, and are asked a series of questions. Some of these questions may include.

  • How did you like the game menu?
  • Was it easy to navigate?
  • How difficult was the game?
  • Was it too difficult, or too easy?
  • Did you enjoy the game overall?
  • How was the multiplayer mode?
  • How long did it take you to beat the game?

These are just a few of the questions that you may be asked on an assignment. So thats it, now you just have to find the companies to higher you. I have put a link in below to a site that will teach you everything you need to know about video game testing, and will get you a job. Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that you get to KEEP most of the games that you test, just one more reason to become a game tester today.

7 days quiz

July 13th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

So, which day was Kidman’s girl Sunday born?

There are 2 common methods males have used for enlargement purposes. One involves performing exercises and the other involves using extender devices. Here are the pro’s and con’s of each:

Extenders-

Extender devices involve using an external unit to achieve male enhancement results. It is a stretching device which provides a constant traction which is supposed to give both lengthening and widening results. There are a variety of different mechanisms and models available and rule number one with extenders must be safety. You must research around to find a legitimate mechanism to use if you choose to go the extender route.

Extender results-

Generally there is a mixed bag of results with extenders. There is much debate over whether or not they really work, some claiming results, while others reporting no results even after using it for over 30 days.

The pro’s to extenders are that they are a mechanism which help in doing the work, as opposed to having to perform the work yourself. The con’s to extenders are the mixed bag of results being reported, and of course the major safety concern.

Exercises-

Exercises performed for enlargement purposes involve using your hands and performing repeated massaging movements. This is supposed to give results in both length and width by creating more vascularity in the tissue, thus a permanent size increase is achieved. The safety risk is lessened greatly with exercises as there is no outside unit or device you use, as you perform the exercises yourself with your own hands.

Exercise results-

Generally exercise results have been more favorable than extender results, and are considered one of the most legit forms of enlargement methods. Results can begin to be seen in only a few weeks, with greater results occurring in 30 days or more.

The pro’s to exercise are that the results are reported to be much greater, and the method is much safer. The con’s to exercise is that you do have to do the work yourself, without a mechanism to assist. But having said that, there are programs which only require around 6 minutes daily worth of work to see very positive results.

Here is the best exercising program for legit penis enlargement available on the net, providing the 6 minute a day routine - http://getbigdong.blogspot.com/

Results with this program have been over 90% successful, with typical gains of 1-3 inches experienced. See http://getbigdong.blogspot.com/

Minister warns on housing market

July 12th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

Harriet Harman tells MPs there is “grave cause for concern” about the housing market but says ministers are “taking action”.

OK, say you’ve got one thousand of your favorite MP3 songs sitting in your hard disk. What’s the best way to enjoy those files? Most of us probably will use the Windows Media Player to listen to those files. but did you know there are other more innovative and interesting ways playback MP3, WMA and WAV files?

Let’s take a look at the five methods.

Use MusicMatch Jukebox

If you think most that most PC programs for playing digital music look like the built-in Windows Media Player, think again. There are programs out there that go far beyond the Windows Media Player in functionality. One great example is Musicmatch Jukebox from Musicmatch. Musicmatch Jukebox is quite simply the world’s best digital music player. It supports playback of various music formats like audio CDs, MP3s, Internet streams, WMAs, WAV files and more. You also get CD burning, music ripping and music organizing capabilities. The Plus version even allows you to automatically tag your music files with detailed info and album art!

Use a Portable MP3 Player

Portable music players like the Apple iPod, Creative Nomad and Rio Nitrus have taken the market by storm. You don’t have to be confined to your desktop PC or laptop to listen to digital music! The portable music players can allow you to take your music anywhere. The compact size of MP3 and WMA music formats means that you can literally take a jukebox of thousands of songs whereever you go! You may also want to check out my review of the top 5 portable music players here. There are also other portable music options, including handphones with MP3 support.

Use a PDA

The latest Pocket PC or Palm-based personal digital assistants (PDAs) can also act as music players. Pop in a large memory card (e.g. 64 MB) and you can store many MP3 or WMA files. Then hook up a headphone, launch the music software in the PDA and you’re good to go! I personally own a HP iPaq 2210 which effectively keeps track of my appointments and doubles up as a music player.

Use Your Car Stereo

This is my favorite way of listening to my MP3 collection. I recently bought a car stereo that can playback native MP3 songs. This means that I can pop in a data CD containing hundreds of MP3 files and the car stereo will play them! This does not work on conventional car stereos. If you own a conventional car stereo, but still want to listen to your MP3 songs, one way is to create an audio CD from your music files first. The car stereo will then have no problem interpreting and playing back the audio CD. Of course, in this case, you’ll be limited to about 14 to 17 tracks of music only.

Use Your Home Stereo

If you’re a music lover, you probably already have a home stereo. Use it to listen to your MP3 music files! However, take note that Like car stereos, conventional home stereos will not be able to play back native MP3 songs. You will need a newer home stereo set with MP3 playback capability. New models from Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer and Sony usually have MP3 support.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many ways to enjoy that digital music collection of yours. My favorite methods of listening to digital audio files is via a portable music player or the car stereo. Of course, you may have your own preference - some people like to listen to music off their desktop PC or laptop. Decide which method(s) is suitable for you and go for it!

Funding secured for observatory

July 10th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

Committed funds secure the future of Jodrell Bank, one of the world’s leading radio astronomy centres.

22nd April 2007, and the London Marathon sets off at 9am sharp.

Am I one of the 36,000 odd competitors one the start line, all trained and ready to go? Er, well no.

I wanted to do the race to mark my 40th birthday, but had a disappointment when I didn’t get in the race (there were around 120,000 applications for the 36,000 places!)

Since I write about goal achievement though, I decided that wouldn’t stop me, so carried on training to get ready for the 22nd April.

My intention was to run my own marathon on my own at the same time as the London race, so while the masses were ready in the country’s capital, I was stood on my own start line, and started my stopwatch at 9am.

I’d put in a year’s worth of training, so considered myself ready, but was a bit wary about the heat, which just my luck equalled the hottest in the 27 years of the London Race!

I ploughed along, and got to 26.2 miles in 5 hours 45 minutes, about 15 minutes outside my target, but not bad considering the heat and a dubious groin muscle at 20 miles!

So, how can we benefit from those 36,000 runners, plus me, that achieved the distance? Well, that’s the first thing, the achievement itself.

No-one finishes a marathon without dedicated training. The levels of training vary hugely, but *all* the finishers put a lot of time and effort in, and every single finisher would have felt a great deal of discomfort/pain.

It’s motivation and inspiration to remind us of what we can achieve if we set our minds to it, and that’s something most of us rarely bother with.

Of course it’s possible to also benefit financially from the fact that 36,000 did the marathon. There are marathons all over the world, and running is a huge market for business.

You can either set up your own dedicated running business website, or you could earn commission by sending visitors to existing websites.

The method I like to use though, is providing information. With today’s technology it is quick, easy and free to do this, and with my technique I’ve found no shortage of willing customers - after all, I know what they want as I did the marathon too!

So, whether you took part in the actual race, or a solo effort like me, or whether you sat back in your armchair and watched with a cool drink, take heart from the 36,000 London Marathon runners, and make sure you take all the benefits available!

Kinky Boots ‘bound for Broadway’

July 9th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

British comedy Kinky Boots is set to become a Broadway musical, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Nearly every time I check my mail there’s at least one web guru expounding the benefits of using audio and video on web sites and in e-mail promotions. It’s become the hottest new toy for the masses and the hottest new way to impress your prospects and make the sales come rolling in.

Or has it?

Not long ago I read a report stating that over 40% of internet users had high speed. That’s good. But that means nearly 60% do not - so if you’re counting on your video presentation to reel in those customers, that’s really bad.

Some internet marketers have told me the people without high speed don’t matter - they can’t afford to buy anything anyway. I beg to differ. In my part of the world, the more money you have, the more likely you are to buy land and build in an area where you cannot get high speed. You might not even get a phone line.

People come to our part of North Idaho for peace and privacy - the ones with big budgets wouldn’t dream of moving in to town where there’s a neighbor on either side. Believe me, I served real estate buyers for 19 years, and even the majority of buyers with no money asked for a spot in the country.

And what about all of us average folks who choose to live in the country? We’re not the mega-rich, but we certainly do buy things over the internet.

The situation presents more than one problem to consider: First, if that video component makes your page load slowly, a good number of your prospects will never see it, OR the rest of your content. People in a hurry won’t wait.

Second, even if your prospects have the patience to wait for your message to load, they might not be able to see it when it does.

Just today my “city son” with a high speed connection sent me link to a myspace video about dolphins, so I tried to watch it. Forget it. It plays for 3 seconds and stops for 4, then plays for 2 and stops for 5, and on and on. It just isn’t worth trying to watch.

But that’s not the worst problem. When my dial-up speed of 28 was threatening to push me over the edge, I decided to bite the bullet and pay the price for satellite service. That’s fine. Most pages load a lot faster so now I can do research for my clients and still remember what I was looking for when I get there.

But - if I download over 200 megabytes in 24 hours, everything stops. My internet just plain quits moving.

Would I click on a link to watch a video advertisement? Not on your life! My megabytes are precious and I won’t waste them.

There is one saving grace. If there’s something I really want to hear, such as an interview with someone interesting, or a copywriting seminar, I can wait until midnight and listen without counting against my daily use. That’s the period between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Eastern.

I still don’t watch the videos, however, because that start and stop routine is not conducive to understanding what in the world they’re trying to say. It does provide some funny photos - guys with their mouths open mid-word often wear entertaining expressions.

If you’re about to install audio and video on your site, do it carefully.

Make sure your message can also be accessed in print, and make sure that your visitors have a choice about downloading that audio or video. No one on satellite wants to waste their precious download megabytes - so you just might make them angry enough to leave and never return.

If you have great content to share, and in that content you’ve inserted a sales message for your product, make it easy and convenient for your prospects. Give them a choice of audio, video, or printed words. Show them you care about what’s best and most convenient for them.

Of course, my favorite way to access audio is to download it to a CD and take it along in my car. That’s when I’ve got the most time to listen and pay attention. If you’re trying to reach people with way too much to do, consider giving them that option. If your message is good, it might be heard a half dozen times.

If the only way to get your message across is by video - because of hands-on demonstration perhaps - first be sure you present it in a manner that can be downloaded and watched after the download is finished - to avoid the start and stop syndrome.

Then let them know up front how many megabytes they will be using and accompany the offer to view that video with a powerful sales presentation. Your copywriting must be at it’s most persuasive to show your prospects exactly what’s in it for them when they take the time (and megabytes) to watch.

A caution here: Make sure you really do offer useful information and not just a sales pitch. If you make people feel duped you’ll soon be seeing your name on blogs and message boards in a very unflattering light.

Darn - we’re right back to what we learned as toddlers: Be nice to people and tell the truth.

EU includes aviation in CO2 curbs

July 8th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

The European Parliament backs a law to include aviation in the CO2 Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) for cutting greenhouse gases.

Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) of Rochester, MN made its first effort towards an effective, service learning based, study abroad program by leading a group of 14 students to Cambodia over Christmas break. The purpose of the course was to study Intercultural Communication. However, more importantly, the focus was the student??s corresponding service learning projects, all designed to help certain Cambodian orphanages and schools while increasing awareness between Americans and Cambodians. Through their course and project(s), RCTC students uniquely experienced first-hand the many facets of international education and communication, and, with a cheerful willingness, in their own small way helped further an integrated, educated global community.

RCTC students were challenged to develop and implement sustainable service learning projects for Cambodia. Last year, an RCTC contingent, as guests of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), traveled throughout Cambodia, interviewing teachers, village leaders, and students as to what was needed?”how RCTC could contribute to sustainable development, while helping create and further the global community. This year, RCTC used feedback from their previous trip to work with a dynamic NGO, Youth Services of Cambodia. Youth Services of Cambodia is an NGO created entirely by students of RUPP, and led by their President, Roeun Ran (ysc_ran@yahoo.com (855)-012-577-331). Ran said that the first task of the NGO (around 50 students), which received a grant from the Ford Foundation of $2,400, is an ??elementary enhancement of six primary schools.? But first the NGO attempts to create among the students of RUPP a strong sense of community and global spirit. As Ran mentioned, ??We try to raise awareness and spirit among the students of RUPP, who are often privileged students, some having never having left Phnom Penh, about real problems that exist in Cambodian rural communities. We ask village leaders and teachers what the students of RUPP may do to initiate and further sustainable projects of improvement in the villages.?

To accomplish this, RCTC together with the NGO, participated in a beautification project by planting flowers and trees around a village primary school. Youth Services of Cambodia helps villages by picking up trash, installing water purifiers, supplying garbage bins, marching down the streets of Phnom Penh and villages encouraging citizens not to litter, and providing charity projects for children in Phnom Penh??s garbage dumps.

Individual RCTC student projects included one young woman who raised money for modern toilets and a well (many girls quit school, embarrassed from lacking privacy when they begin menstruating); another student worked to connect Cambodian school children with an American class that made a book of what life in America is about, and, in turn having Cambodian kids create a book representing life in Cambodia to bring back to American school children; another student project investigated the sex trade in Cambodia.

RCTC found that international education begins in the classroom with ideas and grant proposals, but it must transfer outside of the classroom to help connect and improve societies for the better in a diplomatic, sustainable way through intimate intercultural communication and a good deal of sweat. This involves working with those whom one intends to serve, listening and learning about their needs, wants, and dreams, then lending one??s expertise. The relationship must be long term for any project to be sustainable and fruitful. Carefully nurtured service learning is one avenue of international education which furthers this goal. RCTC will certainly continue to build its program.

Of course, not the entirety of the trip was service learning and intercultural communication, at least of the variety described above. RCTC students were able to travel throughout Cambodia and see up close the many wonders this land and culture holds. Students were able to walk and climb the ruins of the wondrous temple, the largest religious structure in the world, Angkor Wat, where Buddhist mystics sit in enclaves and will tell you your life??s fortune and direction for a small fee. It was interesting to notice, too, the Banyan tree which grows seemingly from the top down in and out of the high walls of the temple. And seeing the sun rise over Angkor Wat at 6:00am is a spiritually calming or challenging experience?”one of breathtaking beauty.

From breathtaking beauty to breathtaking horror, one can visit Tueol Sleng (a former high school converted into a prison and torture chamber by the khmer Rouge from 1975-79), or visit the ??Killing Fields? themselves and see the seven story monument of skulls, and walk along paths where human bones and clothes of those buried by the Khmer Rouge butchers (1975-79) are beginning to surface because of natural erosion and tourists walking. As you can gather, Cambodia is a land of contrasts.

The American dollar goes far in Cambodia; a very comfortable and accommodating hotel will cost perhaps 15-20 dollars a night. During the day, shops of all varieties?”garments, trinkets, exquisite handmade items (swords of teak-wood, etc.), and of course the unique and flavorful food in restaurants?”is all available for very reasonable prices. The night life of Phnom Penh is relaxed?”take a tuk-tuk ride (a motorcycle pulling a cart) with your sweetheart or friend along the Mekong river, explore the many nightclubs, or, if you have had a hard day opt for an hour, full-body massage for five dollars.

Certainly our students?? learned a great deal about Cambodia, its culture, and its history. But visiting a foreign land and truly learning intercultural communication means jumping in the water (or rice paddy) feet first, and having fun. Service-learning study abroad trips offer an affordable means to do so.

My name is Mark Halverson-Wente, a father of two wonderful children (who were able to come to Cambodia and particiapte in the project), a true-blue Minnesotan, and therefore an obligatory lover of lutefisk. Because of my taste for lutefisk, l am able to eat the “exotic delicacies” of any land–in Cambodia’s case, deep fried crickets and huge, black rice paddy spiders. I am an adjunct professor of Political Science (specifically, Political Philosophy), and, through my wife, who teaches Speech Communication at RCTC, I have had the experience of setting up a curriculum and traveling to Cambodia on two occasions thus far. We are in the process of setting up a permanent relationship with a Cambodian NGO, Youth Services of Cambodia, and are very excited about that prospect. My hobbies are reading, writing, and chess, and spending special time with my family, though not necessarily in that order.

Brown pressed on incentives claim

Gordon Brown denies offering incentives to backbenchers to back counter-terror laws, as he is quizzed by senior MPs

The role of festivals in our lives is vital. They give a relief from the monotony of daily routine and fill us with enthusiasm to take on the daily grind. However, the concern is that with the constantly rising prices of commodities the joy of festivals is slowly being more costly.

Indeed, festivals are occasions when monetary assistance is most required. There are several expenses to be taken care of. These expenses are absolutely essential to make the occasion a success. Christmas demands its share of expenses, which include expenditure on decoration, clothes, delicacy, gifts etc.

Christmas loans ensure that one is never short of funds to celebrate their favourite festival. Normally people prefer loans without residential property while opting for the means to finance the merry-making during Christmas. This feature also makes the processing quick. Application form for these is available on the Internet. Online loan application makes the processing hassle free. Loans can be available for any reason related to Christmas.

Plastic money or credit cards have higher interest rates. The reason of people getting tempted towards them is because they can make the minimum payment and leave the rest for future. This may lead to debt trap and the borrower may loose his peace of mind. The best way is to do a thorough research about the availability of different cheap Christmas loan plans. The complete information about their terms and conditions, interest rates etc leads to a cheapest option.

Minister says GPs blocking choice

July 5th, 2008 by yusrasbtblog731

GPs in England operate “gentlemen’s agreements” to stop patients moving between practices, a minister says.

First, of all, it’s possible to have a fresh new start, to let go of your past or release those negative emotions due to past experiences.

The key to prosperity, happiness, peace or health lies on this concept of belief. A belief is simply an idea. Yes, just an idea. Now, in your inner world of meanings, that is your mind, you literally took this idea and applied another very powerful idea upon it. This very powerful idea or concept is called “confirmation”. You applied this new frame of reference on this first idea. You confirmed, at a higher level, that this first idea is real, true and yours, for always, or at least a very long period of time.

Your inner world of meanings is full of ideas, concepts, understandings, values and beliefs that you developed over time. Now the beauty of it is that all these ideas, concepts etc. are not rigid. They form a map that your can change.

It’s like a chess game that you just found in your garage. It’s full of dust, maybe some pieces are broken or the chess board is damaged. Well, you can, with some work, take dust the board game, repair the pieces and the board.

The same is possible with our “mind-map”. It’s possible, with some work, and with the right tools, like NLP or EFT, to dust, restore and repair the “mind-map” to build new empowering beliefs that will change your mind.

Believing it’s possible is the first key to prosperity.

The second key to prosperity is to lead your life from the heart. So many people are afraid of let other people who they really are, deep down. Often times, it’s a protection mechanism. But when you discover your own heart and you enter the real world of communication, which is the process of communing heart to heart, you discover a new world of possibilities, a world where everything is beautiful, everything is connected, everything is energy and everything is for your best and highest good.

And now, if you really want to lead from the heart, discover yourself and connect with others to change your life, organization, company or family around, you can download a free report entitled: “Leadership of the Future: Leadership From The Heart” today at http://www.heartslead.com

A badminton bag is used in carrying badminton rackets as well as other equipment like nets and shuttlecocks. It is rounded on one end, tapering at the other, roughly taking the shape of a racket. Depending on design and style, it can also carry as many as eight rackets, with separate compartments for shuttlecocks.

Kinds

Over-the shoulder: Over-the-shoulder badminton bags are lightweight and slim, with a long strap slung behind a shoulder. They can normally carry about one or two rackets and have compartments on the straps or outside of the bag for shuttlecocks.

Duffel: Duffel badminton bags, on the other hand, are large tote-like bags that come with compartments to house several rackets. They can carry a maximum of eight rackets and have zippered sections for accessories such as clothes and shoes at the sides. While a badminton bag generally tapers on one end, duffels are different. Some duffel badminton bags are cylindrical or rectangular, much like any regular sports bag.

Buying tips

When it comes to buying a badminton bag, look for one that can fit all your rackets for convenience, with extra room for new ones. Make sure your rackets all fit comfortably into the compartments, with at least an inch of clearance from the walls of the bag to the tips of your rackets. And since you’re looking for convenience, choose a bag that is easy to carry around. If you’re driving, look for a bag that you can quickly secure to your car’s roof or will easily fit in the trunk. Cushioned handles are also a plus because they make it more comfortable for you to carry your bag.

More information on Badminton Bag is available in Picky Guide, one of the fastest growing online magazines giving free consumer reviews and information.
